The New Deal

The New Deal's explosive growth over the last two years is thanks to their unique music style. At the vanguard of a new progressive sound, the band combines the energy and flow of contemporary dance music with the spontaneity and breadth of live performance.

Since the band's formation in 1999, North America's response has been phenomenal. After the band's independent release of 3 live albums, Jive/Zomba Records USA signed the New Deal to a multi-album deal. In September 2001 Jive released the New Deal's self-titled debut album in North America, with plans for international releases in Europe, Japan and Australia.

Meanwhile, the band continues on a heavy touring schedule which has included tours with jazz legend Herbie Hancock, Phish's Page McConnell, and spots on Moby's Area One tour and the Coachella festival, as well as countless live dates across Canada and the United States.

Behind the unique sound of the band lies a solid business and marketing sensibilities.  The New Deal's rise to being signed to a major label was a carefully calculated move that culminated years of planning and careful marketing of their unique sound.
