Artist Statement
It is difficult to commit to an "artist's statement" when being a multi-media creator. I have to say that my main talent is the piano, but I have noticed that as of late my entire life has been turning into a manifest destiny in production. I owe all of my success in the arts and in life to various opportunities for feeding an unsatiable curiosity and executing a well-tempered education. The media that that you will encounter searching through my web presence is a reflection of many years of hard work and profound experiences from a unique perspective.
The website links above point to different aspects of my creativity, and current online publishings and open the doors into my personal travels as an independant artist and independant producer maturing in the Los Angeles/Long Beach/Orange County communities.

Myspace/drpepper : hiphop slam poetry producer
Myspace/farshad : a personal blog with Fashion Rock Video

I am currently working on producing two projects simultaneously: The Farshad Project and The Dr. Pepper Project.

Alternative Fusion Pop (The Farshad Project):
* Thoughtful and provocative singer/songwriter mixing elements of pop, alternative rock, classic rock, soul/blues
** Stage presence paralleling that of a young Elton John
*** The kind of artist that might make it on Oprah one day

Slam Hiphop (The Dr. Pepper Project)
* LA style Spoken word over hiphop programmed music or live fusion ensemble
** Egotistical, esoteric and pedantic poetry crossing many intellectual lines including modern neuroscience, street metaphysics and comparative anthropology
*** Live Midi (computer) generated Keyboardist/DJ and laptop engineer

Bio
My mother named me after a Persian composer and all through my junior high years I was fascinated with the piano- trying to learn how to play Elton John and Freddie Murcury Songs. It was not until after junior high that my cousin game me my first 44 key casio keyboard and I immediately taught myself how to read music from my sixth grade flute book.
During this same time, I was constantly exposed to various forms of music such as Elton John, Nirvana and Ganster Rap. One reason I am so much different than most modern musicians is due to the fact that I was born in Tehran, Iran but earned my cultural maturity on the California coast.
During my studies at UC Berkeley, I was intimately exposed to the works of J.S. Bach, C.K. Ledzepko (West African Drums) and modern jazz. After integrating my musical spirit with historical scholarship I attained a effectiveness in expressing interesting and unique musical expressions from various perspectives. Concurrently, I have used my outgoing and well-rounded personality to collaborate with musicians and have thus broadened my musical sensibilities and appeal to match a large audience.
The breadth of my explorations might seem un-focused and scattered to those who dislike progressive music or singular artistic personalities. I hope that in the future my work will touch the ears of at least a million people and that they might appreciate that behind this carnival is a respect for the classics and our collective musical heritage.
